Product Description
This is the PCB for the AM8109 JP8 VCF. This PCB can be used to build a FracRac (15v power and MOTM style 4-pin power connector) or EuroRack (10-pin 12V Doepfer Bus power connector).
The AM8109 is a replication of the Low Pass Filter from the legendary Roland Jupiter 8 and 4. This is a 2 and 4 pole OTA design that Roland first used in the Jupiter 4 in 1980, replacing a discrete version of the filter which took up more PCB space. This is a warm sounding filter with smooth frequency control and a resonance that gradually increases up to full self oscillation, a sound very reminiscent of the early 1980's. The difference between 2 and 4-pole modes is not dramatic, with the 2-pole mode providing a more gradual cutoff slope and silky sound.

Hard to Find Components
The AM8109 uses a small number of components that are hard to find than the standard components and they are available in the stiore as one kit.
  • M5201 SIP8 Op Amp Chip.
  • BA6110 OTA Chip.
  • 10k NTC Thermistor.
  • RED LED Lens.
  • Omron Push button and RED 6mm Cap.

We do NOT sell IR3109 chips. You will need to locate one from eBay or elsewhere. A Boss PH-2 Phaser pedal has 2x IR3109 chips inside and can be bought cheapily on eBay.
