AM317 Dual Voltage Controlled FiltersThis is recreation of the PPG 317 dual voltage controlled filter fom 1976, used by Klaus Schulze, Chris Franke and many others. The design has been reverse enginereed from photographs of the original PCB's. It is a pair of traditional Mini Moog style ladder filters which can be used as seperate low and high pass filters or combined to create band pass and band reject modes. The module is designed to complement the Behringer System 55 Modular System, with a 14HP panel width and the absence of audio signal attenuators. The AM317 delivers a range of creative sounds from the two Mini-Moog style filters with resonance in the low pass filter and a clarity of audio when in self oscillation. AM8005 SH05 FiltersThis module is a unique and very powerful diode ladder VCF, which has three different modes selected by a front panel slide switch: Low Pass Band Pass High Pass All three modes have voltaged controlled frequency modulation. Frequency Cutoff and Resonance can be adjusted and there are 2x audio inputs and 2x CV inputs for frequency modulation. The module has a mixture of slide and rotary potentiometers. The AM8005 is a replica of the voltage controlled filter in the Roland SH-5 analog synthesizer. AM8400 JP-4 VCODescription The AM8400 module is a replica of the VCO in the Roland JP-4 polyphonic synthesizer that was introduced in 1978. The original VCO is a unique design that uses a 555 timer chip and a CMOS divider chip to create square waves which are then shaped into sawtooth and pulse. Most VCO s use a sawtooth or triangle core. This unique design makes for some very different sawtooth wave shapes and tonality. The Jupiter 4 is famous for its powerful sounds and efficient controls. The constraints of microprocessors in 1978 mean there were only 16 sliders that could be memorised, which limited the functionality of the VCO to a 4 octave range and 3 waveforms. The JP-4 has only one VCO per voice, so Roland added a sub-oscillator which generates a square wave one octave below the VCO frequency. The sub can be switched ON or OFF, and the waveform switch has an OFF setting so that just the sub oscillator can be heard.
