DESCRIPTION The AM962 Module is a brand new Behringer 962 Sequential Switch that has been modified to replicate the extra features that Tangerine Dream added to their Moog 962 modules in 1974.

The module consists of Behringer 962 module that has an AMSynths Daughter Board PCB fitted to provide three additional feastures that are selected by new minature toggle switches. The Behringer  PCB and Daughter Board PCB are attached to a new AMSynths front panel that has the legend added for the new features.

The Behringer 962 circuitry, which is a faithful reproduction of the Moog original, is unaffected by the modifications, and integrates seamlessly with the new features which are:

• STAGE 3 - on/off toggle switch
• SHIFT INPUT - on/off toggle switch
• UPPER CV OUTPUT - on/off toggle switch

These feastures greatly enhance the usability of the 962 when being used live with 960 sequencers and are explained in more detail below.

STAGE 3 on/off The 962 is clever and understands when a third audio signal is plugged in, as it switches the stage count from 1-2, 1-2.. to 1-2-3,.. However this means in a live performance if you want to switch from a 24 note sequence to a 16 note sequence you have to unplug the audio signal from the jack socket. Tangerine Dream modified their 962's with a simple on/off toggle switch that disconnects the audio input 3 and connects the stage 3 control logic back to having just 2 active stages.

SHIFT INPUT on/off The second mod is to install a toggle switch to switch the shift input on/off. This disables the shifting across stages and leaves the sequence running in which ever 8 steps are currently active. This modification is very useful as connecting or disconnecting a cable into the shift jack socket can cause spikes and glitches.

CV OUTPUT on/off The third mod is to install a toggle switch that switches the upper main output on/off. This enables the sequence CV output to be paused during a live performance whilst the main sequencer clock is still running. 

CONNECTIONS There are no new connections, the lower jack sockets have been replaced with Thonkiconn versions that are mounted on the new Daughter Board. The upper Behringer jack sockets have been retained.
